Rodarte for Target Preview

Major kudos to my close companion Kendra for giving me the heads up on Target's upcoming designer adventure. Introducing Rodarte for Target. Oh so very 90's and chic. Very weird and couture at the same time. Reminds me of Rose McGowan's character in the 90's flick "Doom Generation." I am saving up to buy when the collection makes it's debut December 22...... Consequently, my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! I am buying hot designer clothes in honor of your birth! Ha ha!

See the similarities between the upcoming Rodarte collection and Rose McGowan's character "Amy Blue" in "Doom Generation"? I love the 90's and who cares if little fashionista tween brats copy the fashions...... At least I get a second chance to buy the fashion I love!

karmaloop is golden

I swear, I could spend every penny I make at either Target or Karmaloop.com!!!!

My order finally arrived this morning and it was everything I could have expected and more. First up, I ordered a t-shirt from Cheap Monday. It says "Carpe Noctem" on the front and kinda has a spooky feel to it. Talk about the perfect t-shirt! The material is soft and thin, it is cropped, but not too short, scooped on the neck just deep enough to be a bit sexy, and billowy around the waist area. Love it!

Next, I have really, really, really wanting a new piece of Betsey Johnson jewelry for a while now but have been waiting to buy until I found the perfect piece. Well, when I saw this snake bracelet, i just had to have it. It has a hinge opening and is held together magnetically, and the glossy enamel and rhinestones are fantastically done. It is both sexy and unique.

The last thing that I ordered was the ultra sexy and rather edgy Jeffrey Campbell Attic Heels. These heels are sooo hot and very comfie on. Super well made. I really admire the stellar construction as well as the attention to detail put into these. And for $48 bucks, rather than the $130 I expected to pay, these were a total steal!

I love the cut out detailing from the front. Soo cute!

Nothing makes a girl feel more happy than getting new heels and hot jewelry:)

To steal my look, go to www.karmaloop.com
They have some killer stuff and way good deals. Almost always, you can get free shipping. They carry sweet brands like OBEY, Betsey Johnson, Vans, Cheap Monday, Creative Recreation, and WESC. Karmaloop is going to take over the planet and put all Urban Outfitters outta business due to their over-powering coolness!!!!!

Anna Sui for Target:)

My love for Target is everlasting- on Sunday, September 13th, 2009 at 8 a.m., the new Anna Sui for Target collection made it's debut. Coralridge Mall was the only mall in all of Iowa to get the collection. I have been waiting anxiously for this thing for..... months. Anna Sui has been my favorite designer since I was 10 and wanted to be a fashion designer when I grew up.

So on Sunday morning, I woke up startled and already late. I threw on some clothes from the floor and hauled my ass straight to Target.

9:03 a.m. - I power walked into Target like a fashion crazed monster and frantically searched for the whereabouts of this insanely fabulous collection. It was nowhere to be found.

I then went to the fitting room and practically demanded to speak with the manager in charge of softlines. It was my old boss, Brooke. Her exact words? "I should of figured it was you!"
I guess Target didn't realize little girl's dreams were at stake here cause they hadn't even bothered to put the collection out yet. The nerve of it all!

So Brooke, the softlines team leader rolled out the collection for me from the backroom and I was like a kid at a candy store. I felt so special shopping the collection straight off of the rack before the general public got their greedy and jealous little paws on it. Muhahaha!

I ended up coming out with the metallic sparkle dress, the puffy vest, and some ugly shirt I later returned. I have not quit wearing the puffy vest. It is so retro and comfie and cute. And all I can do right now it keep trying on the dress with heals, tossing around my hair, and applying more eyeliner. Dreams really do come true!

Screw all that crap about Gossip Girl. I tried to watch like one episode and got so utterly bored that I turned it off after about two minutes. I am all about the Anna Sui goodness!

This collection is hot! Love it!

Eat my Glam!

Expect glam from me, damn it! I am sooooooo happy for Target this summer.... Here you see my awesome Dwell Studios shower curtain, my Anna Sui for Target dress, and my Erickson Beamon for Target cocktail ring. Can Target seriously be any more hip and rad? Seriously, bring on the radness, Target!

Cocktail ring: Erickson Beamon for Target
Dress: Anna Sui for Target
Necklace: Target

I will be totally wearing this dress and all of the fantastic jewelry to Amber's wedding next week! I am so psyched for a reason to wear a pretty dress:) Yay!

I got me a Vera scarf!

I didn't even realize until today that one of the scarves I picked up was a Vera Bradley! How very cute and classy.

I thought the black, white and orange seemed very suitable for fall.

Alison Mosshart is one hot babe!

As much as I suck at fashion, I still really, really enjoy keeping up with it, or at least reading about the newest crap. Who What Wear Daily helps fill mey need for knowing what is in style up-to-the-moment, even though I can't even afford a new pair of underwear:)

It was love at first site today when whowhatwear.com introduced "Girl of the Month" Alison Mossheart. What a badass! I love her laid back, rock n' roll, party girl look. She takes every trend that hipsters adore and wears them all at once. She raids the hell outta Urban Outfitters and she don't give a fuck! Aweeeee-some. And seriously, I do admire her style, even though I am being a bit dramatic about the whole thing.

Hebe: An Awesome Downtown Iowa City Clothing Boutique

I really like browsing around the stores in downtown Iowa City and when I do, I always make sure to take a trip into Hebe to see what is new. Hebe is run by a gorgeous Asian beauty who is always sure to be friendly and accommodating to you. But what is better, she has an absolute eye for great clothing and brings only the most fantastic items into her boutique. Expect to find the newest collection from French Connection and Cheap Monday, among many others. Best of all, the prices at Hebe are actually reasonable instead of a passing dream as they might be in other downtown boutiques. Love it!

Joy by the Month

I get giddy in anticipation every month for one thing- the arrival of my new issue of NYLON magazine in the mail! This month, I was extra happy because NYLON said to hell with lame-o models, lets photograph musicians instead. Thus, the yearly music issue!

And Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on the cover?

HELL YES!!!!!

Shoes That Give Me a Special Feeling

Um, can you say cute?! What a delight to find such perfect shoes, in perfect condition, and a perfect fit. Oh, and did I mention I only paid $18 bucks for them? I feel like a lucky lady for sure!

Yesterday, I had a bit of extra time so I strolled down to Revival in downtown Iowa City, Iowa. Revival and I have had a long standing relationship together. When they first opened about 5 years ago, I was lucky enough to sell my hand sewn goods at the boutique. The store became such a great success that it moved to a far larger location and does killer business bringing in the perfect mix of new goods, one-of-a-kind items, and consigned vintage finds. These Gianni Bini's were no doubt a pricey purchase for whoever previously owned them and I had the luck of finding them in like-new condition for way cheap. Hell yes!

Free Music is Good Music

Love 'em or hate 'em, Urban Outfitters often has cool stuff, although sometimes at prices beyond my range. At the very least, their website and store gives one a clear idea of what is hip at the moment. Annnnnnd, Urban Outfitters is sometimes a bit generous, as well.

Enjoy downloading an entire CD's worth of music. Free.

Get it at: http://blog.urbanoutfitters.com/projects/lstn_4/

And if you like it, then you can download the other 3 "U.O. Listen" CDs they have put on their site. Hey, its more than Abercrombie has ever done for any of us, right?!

Mag Love

I am being serious here: Few things in life are better than getting a cool magazine in the mail. Totally makes my day pulling a bright, sassy magazine out of the mailbox and to flip though those glossy pages is just heaven! MISSBEHAVE Magazine is the ultimate cool girl, hipper-than-thou eye candy you have always dreamed of. Trust me on this one.

Every month, cool ladies such as Chloe Sevigny, M.I.A., Lily Allen, and Bijou Philips grace the cover and the many pages to follow do not disappoint. The writing is witty and hilarious, the fashion is colorful and playful, and the girls are gorgeous but real. Love it!
