4th of July

I would say I had a nice, chill 4th of July this year. Will and I ate dinner on the patio of Quinton's in downtown Iowa City with Spencer at our foot. After chowing down on spinach artichoke dip and awesome sandwiches, we ran into some friends and chilled in the Ped Mall to watch the fireworks. While we watched the fireworks, Spencer chowed down on some flowers out of the flower bed. Quality Care lawn services would kill us!

Sycamore Mall Photobooth

I love photobooths, I love friends, and I love photos, hence why the photobooth has got to be one of my most favorite things in the world. I have dreams and ambitions to own one someday! Imagine how cool it would be to have a photobooth in your living room. If and when I get married, I totally want for there to be a photobooth at the reception cause that would just be amazing!

I am very grateful to have Kendra as a friend. We went to the same grade school and middle school but since she was one grade below me, I never hung out with her until high school. We were definitely partners in crime in our teen years but drifted apart when I went to college. Kendra and I didn't even speak to one another for years, so when I moved back with my parents a few years ago, I was grateful to have the opportunity to meet up with her again. She had just had Aurora and if it wasn't for my curiousity to meet her daughter, we probably would still not be speaking to one another.

It feels good to grow up a little bit and have stability in your relationships and friendships. We all go through different phases in our lives and grow in and out of friendships, so that must mean that the ones that stick around throughout the years are the truest friends of all. I feel very happy to have true friends at last because it seems that for years, I was constantly pushing people away and as a result, only had acquaintances- what a lonely life!

I love you, Kendra!

Friends 4-Ever!!!

Going to the Iowa City Art Fair is really all about the food, not art!

This afternoon, it didn't rain as forecast so my friends from Burlington and I were able to take a trip down to the Iowa City Arts Fair. Now I am not going to discredit the actual art down at the art fair, but in my humble opinion, the best part of the Iowa City Art Fair is the food!!!!

I totally got more steak-on-a-stick. We all did. Meat is amazing, and when it is juicy and bbq'ed just right on a stick, it is to die for. Love it! Today was also kid's day down at the art fair so we got to play with Kendra's daughter and play a bit ourselves, too!

Kendra and I tearing at our meat-on-a-stick like cavemen.

Will and I loving the great weather and cuddling on a bench together.

Kendra putting some style into eating her steak. And yes, we totally ate in the alley.

Iowa City has great Gyros pretty much year round from the cart in the Ped Mall. Anyone who does not live in Iowa City must devour one of these when they visit. Kendra knows what's up!

Kendra and I will make excellent bag ladies someday.

Justin modeling his birth control glasses. Woo hooo!

It was pretty hot today so we stopped for a break in the shade.

Getting Aurora to say "I love my two dads" was classic!

Aurora took full advantage of her new pony, Will and proceeded to ride on his shoulders all afternoon.

We played dress up at one of the kids day events in the Ped Mall. I think Aurora looks like a sorcerer here. Or, you know, Harry Potter. Whatever.

A-frickin'-dorable!

Aurora chowing down on some juicy steak... On Will's head!

This kid is totally going to rebel and become a vegetarian someday.

Holding down Aurora to get a good photo.

I like to play dress up too!

All of the little girls were going ga-ga over the dress up stuff. It was pretty funny.

Will got himself a hotdog. Yummers!!!

Fun at Petland

Will and I have been talking alot about getting a puppy lately. We finally found an apartment that will allow us to have dogs and are counting down the days until we can move in. In the mean time, one can always fill their need to play with a puppy by taking a trip to Petland. When one goes to Petland on a puppy petting trip, you know damn well that you are not buying a dog and I am pretty sure the employees at Petland can sense this as well. They are pretty chill and just let you play with the puppy (or whichever pet you choose) and leave you alone.

We definitely had fun at Petland checking out all of the little critters. It was fun to see the reaction on little Aurora's face when she saw some of these animals. The birds especially seemed to equally intrigue and frighten her. I remember going ape-shit for the pets at our local pet store as a kid, so I can imagine how giddy it probably made her feel!!!!

We played with the softest, cutest, most cuddly Eskimo puppy. What a cutie!!!

Will would love to take home any of these little guys. His heart easily melts for the playfulness of a little pup.

Aurora totally loved petting the little pup as well. She is surprisingly gentle to the little puppy but I was still a little bit afraid she would hurt it and we would get stuck buying an injured puppy from Petland!

Don't worry, Kendra. Those birds scare us, too!!!

Parokeets are pretty but soooo frickin' annoying. They never shut up.

I wanted to steal some of thier colorful feathers. Hmmm, is that unethical?
