Rodarte for Target Preview

Major kudos to my close companion Kendra for giving me the heads up on Target's upcoming designer adventure. Introducing Rodarte for Target. Oh so very 90's and chic. Very weird and couture at the same time. Reminds me of Rose McGowan's character in the 90's flick "Doom Generation." I am saving up to buy when the collection makes it's debut December 22...... Consequently, my Dad's birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad! I am buying hot designer clothes in honor of your birth! Ha ha!

See the similarities between the upcoming Rodarte collection and Rose McGowan's character "Amy Blue" in "Doom Generation"? I love the 90's and who cares if little fashionista tween brats copy the fashions...... At least I get a second chance to buy the fashion I love!

Goodwill Finds!

Ahhhh, Goodwill! Gotta love searching for bargains on a lovely day off. Today, I spent under $10 bucks and came away with a new dress, an embroidered peasant top, brand new slip-on style Crocs for the summer, and a few knick-knacks. Yippy!

Here we have what I am assuming is a "No dogs" sign in French or something. 38 cents.

I frickin' love my very vintage and hand embroidered peasant top. This thing fits perfectly and is in perfect condition. $3.38

The dress is mid-90's and very much reminiscent of something Brenda would wear on Beverly Hills, 90210. $5.38 The insane necklace was actually picked up at Goodwill a few weeks earlier for $1.38. Boo ya!

Thrift shopping always gives me such a thrill and a smug sense of satisfaction:)

Party in my Bedroom Circa 1999

Today, I thought I would reminisce about all of the good times had drinking and dancing with my friends during the many parties had in my bedroom. My bedroom was covered in posters, had a damn good sound system with monster speakers, and was lit with lava lamps and black light.

This was definitely underage drinking at its best. Seriously. Our stomachs were made of steel and we were always ready to guzzle down cheapie Hawkeye vodka or Nattie Ice. Sometimes, we would invite over a friend with a decent waitressing job and a generous wad of cash to supply us with better stuff.

Every one of these parties always involved dancing and singing to Aqua's "Barbie Girl" and Jill Sobule's "I Wanna Be a Supermodel." It's insane to think that probably everyone I knew then knew every single word to Sublime's original 1996 album but its probably true.

I would change my clothes about a dozen times before the end of the night, someone would always end up puking, and we would all pass out in my bedroom, snuggled up in my big waterbed, or wrapped in blankets on the hardwood floor.

In the morning, I recall someone waking up with a toothbrush stuck in their hair. We were all probably still pretty drunk but that didn't stop us from getting out and stumbling through garage sales bright and early in the morning.

Good times.

New P.J. Harvey

As a teenager growing up in the 90's, my musical taste has naturally gravitated towards the grungy and distorted sounds rather than the squeaky, over-produced music of this day in age. Seeing as P.J. Harvey has just put out a new video, this is reason to rejoice!

The video is done in slow motion, P.J. looks as gorgeous as ever, and the song definitely did not disappoint me. As could be said of anything else P.J. Harvey has done- Bravo!!!
