Yup, our apartment is da bomb

I knew eventually things here in Iowa would get better. I knew I wouldn't be living in my boyfriend's bedroom with bitchy assholes living in the basement forever. Alas, since moving to our new place, things in life have gotten vastly better. I quit my shit job at Target as a cashier for $7.25 per hour and started working at Journey's as the store manager and making bank.

So it's all good! I bought us a couch, our new table and chairs are fantastic, and decorating has been a blast. I love it!

I used the Orla Kiely table cloths that I got at Target as curtains in the living room. It looks very retro, I think.

I love the brown cabinets! And having all new appliances and a pantry is nice too. Sure beats the hell out of cleaning up after Mike and Sarah's sorry asses.

My cookie jars!!!!!!! Thanks, Orla Kiely for Target:)

The kitchen curtain the the bomb-diggity, don't ya think?

Will stretched a piece of my favorite fabric with stretcher bars. I love it! And the table and chairs is perfect.

Yum! Fake plastic fruit!

Our IKEA Expedit bookcase is double sided..... It acts as a framing device for our living room and serves as a bookcase and display for all of our good stuff.

I framed some of the paper dolls and stickers I picked up in Korea.

Picked up the "Marushka" piece at Artifacts for $12 bucks. Framed some sweet art from High Fructose magazine for the toilet area.

My corner of the bathroom is totally Asian-fied.

I am so happy to have a place to live that I love. I wake up everyday and think about how lucky I am to have a cute boy, a cute dog, and tons of cute stuff:) I am very fortunate.

Pimped Out Snuggie

When I first got back from Korea a few months ago, I realized I had missed a few modern phenomena, one of the most amazing of which being THE SNUGGIE. I mean, FUCK!!!! This thing is perfect for any cult member, or you could even think of joining Polyphonic Spree for the next leg of their tour. It keeps you wickedly warm while keeping your hands free to hold a baby, talk on the phone, or even read a book! I feel I was missing out when I came back to America and found out a blanket with sleeves had been invented! What next? Flying cars?!?!?!

ModHomeEcTeacher one upped the generic "As Seen On TV" Snuggie and made her own, plus pimped that mo fo out! Yeeeeeeah boooooy! On her blog are step-by-step instructions to making your very own Snuggie, cause I know you totally wanna!

This is one Snuggie that will truely rock your world!

Nerdery

I have recently reverted back to an old favorite on the Nintendo DS- Animal Crossing:Wild World. I even have a friend to play DS to DS with, which is pretty exciting!

Anyhow, I thought I would take a few screen shots of my super nerdy character, Kimchi, who I made when I was in South Korea, of course. And the town is even named "Korea". Gotta love her green hair, Buddy Holly glasses, and grunge striped dress!

I like to harvest fruit for money. Here is a field of fruit I collected. Look at it in all of its vastness.

I have seriously thought about getting dressed and doing something this morning, but somehow making a geeky blog about something I like to do seemed like the thing to do instead.

Cute Korean Tape

I decided to get crafty and decorate this little box I had with some of the decorative tape I picked up in Korea. For the record, decorative tape is awesome! The little rolls of tape are from stationary stores in South Korea largely populated with little kids. Everything at said stationary stores is cute, cheap, and colorful. Needless to say, I spent the majority of my pocket change in stationary stores!

The end result of my taping experiment was pure eye candy perfection. My box is completely covered in cute tape and now I can start the process of covering it in equally gaudy stickers.

Way to get crafty, me!
