The World's Most Beautiful Dog

My little Spencer-pants is the most photogenic dog in the world. Here we have Spencer taking a moment to pose for a photo while he is looking out the window in our living room. I love the wonderful contrast in these photos and how you can see all of his individual whiskers and fur so nicely. He really is a swell little guy!

I am definitely having these photos printed at Target tomorrow so I can have them framed:)

Dog Days

Today, Spencer cried for an hour after Will left for school. By the time I got up at 7:45, Spencer ran to the door and peed right there on the rug while I was throwing my shoes on to take him out. When we came in, he drank a big gulp of water and then promptly puked it up on the rug. That's alot of clean up before 8 a.m.

Snow Doggie!

This morning, Spencer got to experience his first snow! At first, he was reluctant to get off of the beaten path, but soon he became brave and began to frolic through the snow and sniff at it until it made him sneeze. What a cutie!

Later in the evening, we got quite a bit more snow so I put on my parka and my Northface boots to play in the snow with him. It is such a joy to watch my pooch jump through the big piles of snow like a rabbit. After all, his little puppy legs are not very long! How very fun. I have always wanted a dog of my own to play in the snow and through the seasons with. I don't know what Will and I ever did without Spencer because he fills everyday with new adventure and happiness.

Ugly Dog Sweater

Tis' the season......

To dress dogs up in hilarious sweaters!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today, I got Spencer some crappy dog sweater out of the One Spot at Target. The tag on it specifically said, "Ugly Dog Sweater." Sounds about accurate. I think Spenc looks adorable:)

Home Sweet Home

This week, I went home on my day off to visit my Mom and Dad. I was a perfect fall day- breezy and cool but sunny and promising. I love the smell of the freshly fallen leaves in the air! Most notably, I took some photos of Spencer in the same places I first took photos of him this summer when we brought him home for the first time. Spencer is a big boy now at 6 months of age but still a bratty little monster always looking for trouble. Oh well, what can you expect out of a puppy?!

A dog in sheep's clothing

OH MAN! One of the best things about having a dog is dressing him up! Endlessly entertaining. Here we have Spencer the peasant followed by cowboy Spencer.

He looks utterly thrilled, don't you think?

Yup, our apartment is da bomb

I knew eventually things here in Iowa would get better. I knew I wouldn't be living in my boyfriend's bedroom with bitchy assholes living in the basement forever. Alas, since moving to our new place, things in life have gotten vastly better. I quit my shit job at Target as a cashier for $7.25 per hour and started working at Journey's as the store manager and making bank.

So it's all good! I bought us a couch, our new table and chairs are fantastic, and decorating has been a blast. I love it!

I used the Orla Kiely table cloths that I got at Target as curtains in the living room. It looks very retro, I think.

I love the brown cabinets! And having all new appliances and a pantry is nice too. Sure beats the hell out of cleaning up after Mike and Sarah's sorry asses.

My cookie jars!!!!!!! Thanks, Orla Kiely for Target:)

The kitchen curtain the the bomb-diggity, don't ya think?

Will stretched a piece of my favorite fabric with stretcher bars. I love it! And the table and chairs is perfect.

Yum! Fake plastic fruit!

Our IKEA Expedit bookcase is double sided..... It acts as a framing device for our living room and serves as a bookcase and display for all of our good stuff.

I framed some of the paper dolls and stickers I picked up in Korea.

Picked up the "Marushka" piece at Artifacts for $12 bucks. Framed some sweet art from High Fructose magazine for the toilet area.

My corner of the bathroom is totally Asian-fied.

I am so happy to have a place to live that I love. I wake up everyday and think about how lucky I am to have a cute boy, a cute dog, and tons of cute stuff:) I am very fortunate.

Long, Lost Spirit

These days, when I am not working, it seems all of my time and energy is spent on this guy. Today was my day off and I decided to get my child his first Halloween costume. Spencer and I snooped around at Petland and found this awesome doggie skeleton costume, complete with ear holes. He liked it so much that he wore it out of the store:)

OH man! I think I am not wearing makeup here! Yikes. I look like the crypt keeper's mistress.

Giving My Puppy a Bath!!!

After our crazy evening playing in the pond at the dog park, Spencer needed a bath. I love how pathetic and silly puppies look when you get them wet. Look at those ears! I think he looks like Yoda in the bottom picture. Poor little guy!

Puppy in a Pond

A few days ago, we took Spencer to the pond at the dog park to test the waters and boy was it hilarious!!! He ran back and forth along the pond banks and buried his nose into the mud. He rolled around in the dirt and while rolling around, he managed to roll right into the water!!!! I would have to say he looked like he was having alot of fun but man oh man was he a dirty dog afterwards:)

4th of July

I would say I had a nice, chill 4th of July this year. Will and I ate dinner on the patio of Quinton's in downtown Iowa City with Spencer at our foot. After chowing down on spinach artichoke dip and awesome sandwiches, we ran into some friends and chilled in the Ped Mall to watch the fireworks. While we watched the fireworks, Spencer chowed down on some flowers out of the flower bed. Quality Care lawn services would kill us!
